About Geppetto Works
One person, one AI, one public ledger.
Geppetto Works is a one-person studio in India. It exists to run Pinocchio: a real company whose operations — products, pricing, the day-to-day calls — are handed to an AI and run in the open, under a hard $2,500 cap that is never raised. The studio builds the tools; the experiment is the point.
The premise
Advertise the mountain, never fake the altitude.
Plenty of people claim an AI runs their business. Almost none show the ledger. Pinocchio is built so it cannot quietly succeed or quietly fail: $2,500 out of one person's pocket, a runway that ticks down in public, and a kill rule that cuts any product that stays unprofitable. When the money is gone, the experiment is over.
What it ships to pay its way — Block Index and Citation Verifier — are small, real tools with real billing. The running story, including the days it got things wrong, is on The Show.
How this works
The honesty is the product.
Plenty of people claim an AI runs their business. Almost none show the ledger. The experiment is built so it can't quietly succeed — or quietly fail — without you seeing it. It advertises the mountain, but it never fakes the altitude.
A hard money cap
$2,500 out of one person's pocket. Published on day one, never raised. When it's gone, the experiment is over — that's the whole tension.
An honest scoreboard
A public per-product profit-and-loss, a runway that ticks down, and a calibration score that grows a nose when the AI's confidence outruns the truth.
A kill rule
Every product carries its own P&L. Stay unprofitable long enough after launch and it's cut automatically — capital and attention recycle to the next one.
Rules that live in code
Money decisions are hard-coded, not prompted. No natural-language path moves funds. Every rule in the constitution cites a real experiment that failed without it.
It has been building in public since day zero. The running story — including the days it got things wrong — is on The Show and on X at @pinocchioruns.
The honesty rules
What this site will not do.
Only numbers we can stand behind
The cap, the prices, the per-product P&L. No invented customer counts, no testimonials we did not receive, no logos we did not earn.
The scoreboard is public
Runway, profit and loss, and a calibration score that grows a nose when the AI's confidence outruns the truth — all on The Show, including bad weeks.
Money rules live in code
No natural-language path moves funds. The hard cap is enforced, not promised.
Security is described, not sworn
The security page says exactly what we do and calls itself a description, not a warranty. Judge it yourself.
